"If this is the day of my harvest in what fields have I sowed the seed, and in what unremembered seasons?"

~Khalil Gibran

We are caught in the cycle of reincarnation while we continue to hold opinions, judgements and illusions – consciously or unconsciously – about ourselves or others. We have accumulated a vast store of ideas, judgements, morals and standards, many imposed on us by society. Our thought and conditioning patterns are often rooted in fear. Some are deeply repressed. Hidden fears, blocks and motivations control and shape our lives, causing us to become unbalanced. This is karma.

The purpose of karma is to awaken us to old responses imbalances, and the importance of taking personal responsibility for every aspect of our lives. The more ‘asleep’ we are the greater our karmic burdens and difficulties become. It may be necessary to meet with drastic conditions in our lives to bring about a shift in awareness.

Our current-life lessons emerge at different times in our lives and according to our level of self-awareness. As we grow our soul encounters new, more challenging conditions that awaken us to further patterns of attachment, so that we can move on to new levels of growth.

At a certain point on our karmic journey we finally remember our true spiritual selves. We learn how our perceptions and misperceptions have become our reality and forgive ourselves and others (the law of grace). We are released from our karma and able to move freely along our path to higher consciousness. As enlightened beings we can then offer others this new awareness, to manifest spirit on the earth plane.
